Nyanyi Sunyi - Various

This exhibition is held from 5th to 25th February 2018 at Gillman Barracks.

The exhibition is curated by Kamiliah Bahdar and Syaheedah Iskandar.

It features:

Nadiah Alsagoff - She did two really nice paintings on fabric. Really love her art. Considering that she doesn't do much painting, she is a good painter and she works at it.

Hilmi Johandi - Did some interesting work. Hilmi is good and on our artists page. Works here look like he is trying something new. Excited to see want he does for his MFA show.

Kin Chui - showed some rusty letter boxes... errr. Think he is a better cinematographer.

Kharrudin Wahab - Showed new works. Thought the ones at Ipreciation were better. Seems a step back for him. But 1 step back and 2 steps forward.

Rifqi Amirul - Showed the works he did at waxing and waning. The Pagar one - that was interesting. But after seeing all the other works he showed at this show, really have to sit on the sidelines before we can buy his works.

Izzad Razali Shah - Showed some interesting paintings. Very Indonesian like works. You would be forgiven if you thought the works were by an Indonesian artist. Works are interesting and good. But I'm not sure of his branding and considering he was born in 1986, he has very low visibility. But at least the works I think were reasonably priced.

Point for collectors: Nadiah and Hilmi - strong buys. Kin Chui - wrong category of works to judge him. Izzad - neutral - wait to see if he is more active before we can recommend a buy. Rifqi and Kharrudin  - Neutral.

Swamp - Island - Poetry -Ripple Root

This exhibition is held from 9th February to 18th March 2018 at K+ gallery at Scott's Square.

Ripple Root is showing their works at this show. Some new works, some older works. Love their happy works. Brightens your day and cheers you up as you do your work. Whether it be house work or home work. Art doesn't have to be too serious all the time especially after spending a long day at work, and coming home to cheerful works is always nice.

Point for collectors: Buy rating for Ripple Root. But the prices listed for this exhibition are a bit on the high side.
