This exhibition is held from 17th January 2019 to 2nd March 2019 over at Miaja Gallery (in collaboration with Ikkan Art Gallery) at the Robertson Quay area.
This show was a collection of her works over the past years. She showed paintings which were the prelude of her sculptural works. She also showed her progression; her flat wall works, the Interwoven landscapes and the sculptural wall works. Similar to the ones shown at One East Asia earlier.
In addition to things which she had shown before are also newer paintings. She showed the piece that was shown at VADA and some newer works also (post Vada but pre sculptural). Those paintings were nice too, she definitely showed progression in her paintings. She also showed her European residency works.
But the main feature was the newer wall sculptural works which are more complex and more chaotic to represent decay and the way nature and the urban mix. Also she showed larger free standing sculptural works, something she had been thinking about as she had shown a one small work/ study at One East Asia.
Points for collectors: Nandita is a strong buy. Love her works. She has many friends in the art circle. But a slightly different circle in the art Venn diagram. Good that she has moved to a better gallery, but still not a major gallery who has their base of collectors who they can place the works with. It's now a matter of opportunity for her rather than skill here.
