Sorry folks. Have been slacking alot recently. Lots of things going on in the art world. No time to write about everything. So I will try to catch up with a few.
Mainly Ang Soo Koon's Everest, Donna Ong at FOST gallery and Chun Kai Feng at FOST.
The are quite a few others but no time.
Anyway, lots more other things to catch:
1. Tung Yue Nang - City Scapes at Cape of Good Hope. (Currently on)
2. Ota Fine Arts - Motion (Currently on)
3. Esmond Loh at Chan Hampe (this week)
4. Eric Chan at Chan Hampe (next week)
5. Mizuma Gallery - Constituent Concreteness (this week)
6. Affordable Art Fair - (next week)
7. Kray Chen - It's a set situation at Grey Projects (Currently on)
8. Chen Yan Yun - Charcoal Drawings - NUSS Guild House (Currently on)
9. Donna Ong - 5 trees make a forest - NUS Museum ( Currently on)
10. National Gallery Singapore - Reframing Modernism ( on till 17th Jul)
(Wah Piang so many how to go.... no need to work.....)
And also a whole smattering of others.... a lot of low level exhibitions.
Think with a lot of young artists there is a lot of enthusiasm. But with the poor economic outlook, think there will be a lot of attrition of some galleries and the younger artists might struggle. I feel people are more cautious and have cut down their discretionary spending. Let's see how the AAF does. Looking at the gallery exhibitor list, it doesn't look too impressive either. Not trying to be negative, as I think the art market should still do good for the mid and upper tier.
